Smokers’ Panel is an initiative led by the Ontario Tobacco Research Unit at the University of Toronto and is affiliated with the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health. Partner organizations consist of Ontario’s smoking cessation service providers: STOP, Ottawa Heart Institute, Smokers’ Helpline, Leave the Pack Behind, Driven to Quit, Ontario Lung Association, Algoma Health Unit.
The Ontario Tobacco Research Unit (OTRU) is an academic research organization that is a leader in research related to tobacco use, exposure to second hand smoke, and tobacco control that generally aims to help reduce the burden of tobacco-related illness and death in Ontario.
Smokers’ Panel receives its funding from the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care. More details about OTRU’s research and evaluation can be found at otru.org.
